Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

Harf is built to be a quiet, private place to read the Qur'an. We do not ask you to create an account, and your reading stays on your device.

The short version

What stays on your device

Everything you do in Harf is stored locally on your phone: the pages you read, your hasanat count, streaks and history, your reading preferences, and any intention (niyyah) you set. This information lives in Harf's private storage on your device. We cannot see it, and it is not sent to us or anyone else. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it.

Network requests

To show you the mushaf, Harf downloads Qur'an page images, page fonts, and (when you request them) translations and tafsir from the public Quran.com API. These are ordinary internet requests. As with any website you visit, the service answering the request may see standard technical information such as your IP address and the content requested, in order to deliver it. Harf sends no personal information of yours in these requests, and once a page is saved it can be read offline without any further request.

What we do not do

Children

Harf is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If we add features in the future that change how data is handled, for example an optional account for backing up your reading across devices, we will update this policy and describe clearly what is collected and why. Any such feature will be optional and explained before you use it.
